Hello .. you missed the whole concepts .. it was a bunch of hawt immortals going to high school .. :D

Ha! :circle:

It was supposed to be all about appearances.....but I kept wondering why they didn't just home school. Maybe they were bored of that?

Hey Maj!!

Geez, my spelling sucked in that post LOL. Hello, people that hawt canʻt just stay at home .. itʻs against some sort of Hawt Law or something LOL. Truly though, I started reading it because it was a way that my son and I could "share" a book - which we hadnʻt done since Harry Potter - and despite Bella irritating me, I liked the story. My son just told me that the scene were Bella goes to Seattle with her friends and sees Edward there and they go to dinner isnʻt gonna be in the movie .. heller, thatʻs a major part of the progression of their relationship!

But... they're immortal. Aren't they kinda... done... with high school & high school angst? Better yet, why don't they move somewhere where they won't get noticed so much if they don't attend school?

Atleast your spelling doesn't suck all the time like mine.

I pretty much read it for a similar reason. I read it for my evening book club which is full of moms. We figured we'd better read it to see if it was okay for the kids. It is decidely not okay for mine until we have the sex talk....not that they are reading books with over 200 pages yet anyway.

I guess I'll have to go watch the movie. I've never heard of the books, we'll probably get a translation if the movie is successful.

I saw the movie. It was alright...ish.
Robert Pattinson was great and will be in my dreams for months to come. The other vampires and the Native Americans were cast well but the humans left a lot to be desired. Their acting was poor.
The action was good, I loved a lot of the imagery.
My imagination is better but I did enjoy the movie.

Did you wanna kill Bella even worse in the movie than in the book?

Oh, it most definitely is a low reading level. I checked the lexile score of the first book and it is at 750 which is basically grades 7-8. I liked the concept and the storyline ... thatʻs what kept me reading. There is a word that she used over and over though that irritated me .. I canʻt remember what it is now LOL

was it "murmured?" my friend that read it said that at one point, it seemed that every time someone says something, they murmur it. "...bella murmured" "...edward murmured", over and over.

BWUAHAHAHAHA .. omg, that's IT!!!!

I seem to be the only person in my circle of friends/family who hasn't gone to see the movie. Of course, they were all pestered by talking teenagers which is one of the things I want to avoid when spending nearly $9 for a movie .. so I'm gonna wait a bit longer

I can go to the movies anytime I want, all the times I want (with my wife) for a fixed monthly fee of MXN$225

Envy me ;) :D

How much is that in US dollars? $225 a month in the US is more than the mortgage on my trailer.
