seems like your upset 'cause your weed cost too much.

I got news for ya though...
even if it's legalized, it'll still cost the same, only the names will change,
of who gets the moneys.

I'm not upset about anything cat.

I thought the video was funny. The amount of fear packed into one segment is amazing.

Weed "that will kill you", drug lords in your gated community, exploding houses. Really something else.

I've gotta friend that used to live next door to a meth lab house. (unknowingly)
It blew one day and blew out the windows on the side of his house.
They were on vacation at the time, luckily.

I think meth lab houses are way more dangerous, and probably more plentiful,
but gated or not, Anything that is dangerous like that (whatever it might be)
should not be.

Growing is one thing, but endangering others is a whole other thing.

imo it just shows how unethical some are with the growing.
Using a house like that for camo, when there's plenty of houses out away
from others more.

The house blew up because making Meth has that potential (potentially explosive chemical reactions). Growing plants does not lead to anything blowing up. If it does, then I've got turnips in my garden I can use in the next revolution. ;)

Anyone here every seen Reefer Madness? I have the DVD ... hilarious.

cat, I don't know shit about meth labs other than Breaking Bad. Which is a fantastic show.

I've been around enough meth users to get what is going on with them. I imagine meth labs are toxic and dangerous.

This video was about weed though. Weed that will kill you. :)

Weed that will kill you. :)

actually I think it might depend on ones mental state.
I could imagine a scenario, and we may have unknowing seen examples,
of high-power smoke sending (already unstable) people over the edge.

Of coarse any number of things could possibly do that, even legal stuff.

Actually I'm on the same page as Stossel. I think all drugs should be unregulated as far as the fed.
imo, it should be a state to state thing.

And taxed ... just like any other recreational substance (i.e., alcohol and tobacco).

Maybe not blowing up, but pot growers who grow inside a house are notorious for messing with the power lines into the house to bypass the meter because the lights they use would cost thousands and thousands of dollars a month if they were on the meter, and a three-bedroom house with a $10,000/month electric bill would arouse suspicion. Messing with the power lines is a good way to cause a fire, which could be dangerous.

There are far more growers out in rural communities than in gated neighborhoods. But I can't imagine the amount of electrical use that would pull so much electricity that the bill would be $10K/month. 0_o Even with grow lights on 24/7/365.

Honestly, if we legalized the growing of marijuana (just like wheat, grapes, hops, barley and corn, or other plants, for the distilling of alcohol or brewing of beer) we'll eliminate the sort of practices that lead to other illegal practices. Once it is out in the open there is no need for "messing with power lines" or hiding the operation or kidnappings and murder at our borders. Furthermore, just like any other farmer, the cost of growing the plant, as in tobacco, can be factored into the paying taxes. And don't forget import taxes should the plant be raised and imported into this country.

It was from an episode of Holmes on Homes I saw where they had to re-do a house after someone rented it out and the tenants turned it into a major pot grow. they also had to get rid of a lot of mold in the attic. I thought the number was $10K/month, but I could be off... and it's also a Canadian show so that could make a difference.

I had heard there was more of this sort of thing in Canada because of the climate. The cold is not good for growing marijuana.

Makes me wonder how much the US could make exporting to Canada. Hmmmm.

Ya'd have to work on quality first... BC Bud has more bang for your buck.

I'm not sure if it's a climate thing more than a price/kWhr.
More often than not, I hear about farmer's fields being co-opted as grow-opps more than house-opps.
