Soundtrack of your life

If you could compose a cd with songs that decribes either you, or your life up to now pretty well, what would you put on? Obviously the motivation behind each song would have it's own explanation, and it would be too long to analyse each of them here. Let's say, you can put anything between 5 and 10 songs on.

Also name a song you would like to be played at your funeral, sort of like a grand finale. :D

No particular order. Or are they?

Queens of the Stone Age - No one knows
Creed - One last breath
Queens of the Stone Age - First it giveth
Drowning Pool - Bodies
Eminem (even though he's a complete fucktard, these songs still apply) - Just don't give a fuck/Still don't give a fuck
Cookie Monster - C is for Cookie
Kevin Bloody Wilson - Ho ho fucking ho

What I'd like them to play at my funeral:
DJ Chipman - Peanut Butter Jelly Remix

Squiggy

ThunderDick
Quite simple. I've always had a strange feeling that Jackson Browne was writing about me when he did side one of Late for the Sky....Its eerie.

Funeral: Seasons in the Sun-Terry Jacks

Hmm, it might be hard to do since my life/preferred music is constantly changing. But for now those who represents me (or what I criticize) would be:

Avantasia - The Looking Glass
Edguy - Out Of Control
Juno Reactor - Silver
Juno Reactor - Pistolero
Gamma Ray - Damn The Machine
Gamma Ray - Follow Me
Nightwish - Dead To The World
Nightwish - Wishmaster
Sonata Arctica - Weballergy (not what you might think ;))
The Future Sound of London - Papua New Guinea
Therion - To Mega Therion
Therion - Summer Night City
Symphony X - Evolution (The Grand Design)

(I know, there's more than 10 songs, but I hate to waste space on my CDs :D )

As for my funerals:

Nightwish - Sleeping Sun

Shadowfax

mod cow
david gray - the other side
supergrass - pumping on your stereo
cradle of filth - hallowed be thy name
hans zimmer - the battlest
staind - outside
hans zimmer - now we are free
opeth - the drapery falls
3 doors down - be like that
a - 6 o' clock on a tube stop

those would all be nice on my funeral...and end with Metallica - No Leaf Clover... and then emphasize on the "then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel is just a freight train coming your way"

I won't list my songs... that'd take forever to work out...

but when i was 18 and we'd just finished a levels... everyone kinda knew that was in some ways the end of our childhood... like a new chapter in all of our lives... some people were going to uni, some to work, whatever... the group dynamic would never be the same again...

anyway, music had always been important to everyone in our group. we made a CD, everyone chose one track which would go on there and represented them, which tried to sum up everything about them... i've still got that CD around somewhere...

i'm glad we did that... and it's impressive how these things can stick around. a couple of my mates got married last year, the song becca had chosen to go on the CD for her was the song she had played for the first dance at her wedding - "i don't wanna miss a thing". Knowing her, that'll be the song she wants played at her funeral too.

Funny thing is, almost all the people who I was close enough to at 18 to share the soundtrack to our lives with, i don't speak to any more... it's not a concious thing, but without keeping the effort there people just drift away over time...

i'll have to think about my soundtrack. i'll get back to you...
