The Left's Phoney Outrage Over Phoney Rush Quote

Rush was speaking last week about those who, in an attempt to garner media attention for the left, have been arrested for impersonating US Military--Jesse the wannabe Ranger, etc.--- the left loves to parade these types around in a desperate attempt to try and show that there are many many men and women in uniform who oppose the war .

Now the left has twisted his meaning to say that he's called the men and women serving in Iraq who oppose the war "phoney soldiers."

In an official public condemnation, Harry Reid stood on the floor of the Senate and in rather subdued tones accused Rush for being a "liar" and "unpatriotic" and demanded that he apologize. They've even drawn up a letter to send to the head of the radio network to voice their consternation over the situation.

Rush spoke the truth of the phony soldier and the attack is focused on what others said he said. The left are trying to distract from the failure of their mission to remove the troops from Iraq, to distract from their low approval ratings, to make their alienated base happy.

Here is what this phony fiasco is really all about: It’s about the MoveOn.org Democrats trying to save face in the aftermath of the disastrous “General Betray Us” smear. They want their own moment of righteous (or rather, lefteous) indignation, their own empty proof that they really, really, really do support the troops. They want to shift attention away from MoveOn.org, its bully tactics, and its thug brethren at Media Matters. They are making a pathetic attempt to equate the “Betray Us” attack–which was deliberately timed for publication and maximum p.r. damage to our military command when the world was watching our top general in Iraq testifying in Congress–with a radio talk show host’s ruminations about anti-war soldiers who have faked their military records/history.

The left undermines our troops with their words and the bills they have tried to pass to force withdrawl--now they try to redeem themselves with phoney outrage over exagerrated claims. The dems are circling the drain.

minkey, yes, he has. However, he has not commited slander. More importantly, he has not stood on the floor of the US Congress while slandering another & hiding behind the protection of the Constitution. Topping Majority Leader Reid may be Sen Harkin who mumbled something about him being back on drugs. Not exactly top notch behavior from our Senators.

The only word-twisting involved came out of the mouths of the left.

The outrage has only been manufactured to give the impression that the dims give an actutal shit about the military. For that matter, about this country's existance. The only thing they worry about is IF they are going to be sitting in the WH in '08, and this hogwash is to push that agenda.

While I believe that Congress ought to not pass meaningless resolutions condeming anything, MoveOn is a political organization-not a private citizen.
