Mark Foley sent e-mail messages to a page who was of age and we heard about it for weeks. Of course, Foley was a Republican. Let's see how far this one goes now that a democratic staffer is involved in a sex scandal.

House Staffer Charged With Soliciting Sex From Minor

by Chad Pergram | November 23, 2010

Fox News has learned that Bob Decheine, longtime chief of staff to Rep. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.) has been arrested by police in Gaithersburg, M.D. for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor and has been fired.

Decheine is 48 and has been Rothman's Chief of Staff since 2003. He's also a former aide to Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.).

The arrest was made last Friday, and was apparently part of a sting by Gaithersburg police. According to a press release from police, the offense carries a sentence of no more than 10 years in prison, a $25,000 fine or both.

Rothman's office released a statement, reading in part:

"On Friday, November 19, 2010, at 3:30 pm, the House of Representatives Sergeant at Arms contacted Congressman Steve Rothman personally and informed him that the Gaithersburg Police Department had arrested Mr. Robert Decheine, who was then serving as his Chief of Staff, on a charge of sexual solicitation of a minor. Congressman Rothman immediately consulted appropriate House Counsel and terminated Mr. Decheine's employment, effective November 19, 2010, due to the very serious nature of this charge. Congressman Rothman considers this alleged criminal act to be shocking, appalling and indefensible."

NJ Congressman Fires Aide Over Child Sex Solicitation Charges
Updated 8:40 AM EST, Thu, Nov 25, 2010

A New Jersey congressman has fired his chief of staff -- a former Obama aide -- after the aide was arrested in Maryland on a charge of soliciting sex from a minor.

Democratic Rep. Steve Rothman took the action after learning that top aide Robert Decheine was among 11 people snared in a Gaithersburg, Md., police sting. Police placed ads on a website and an undercover officer communicated with customers through phone and text messages.

Police said the 48-year-old was arrested on Nov. 17 after soliciting to have sex with an underage girl. Decheine was released on $15,000 bail. Eleven arrests were made during the operation, which came in phases. First, ads were placed online and an undercover officer began communicating with each "John," according to the Website TMP.

The Record newspaper reports Rothman's office issued a statement saying the New Jersey Democrat considers the alleged criminal act "to be shocking, appalling and indefensible.''

Palin hits back at Obama, media after slip-up
Nov 26 11:56 AM US/Eastern

US conservative standard bearer Sarah Palin has accused critics of unfairly singling her out, after a slip of the tongue rekindled questions about her credibility.

After mistakenly urging radio listeners to "stand with our North Korean allies," the Alaskan, who looks increasingly likely to run for the White House in 2012, protested that President Barack Obama had made similar slips and not been singled out.

"They couldn't resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline," Palin wrote on her Facebook page late Thursday.

The former governor pointed to instances in which Obama had mistakenly said there were 57 US states, instead of 50, and claimed the country was founded 20 centuries ago -- without, she said, stirring up the same kind of criticism.

"If you can't remember hearing about them, that's because for the most part the media didn't consider them newsworthy."

Always divisive and sometimes meandering in her speech, Palin has staked her popularity on conservative views and an unorthodox approach to politics.

But her disregard for the usual verbosity and pomp of Washington has caused some critics to portray her as incapable or unfit for the Oval Office.

Palin was particularly criticized as a vice presidential candidate at the last election in 2008 for her alleged lack of knowledge on key foreign policy issues.

In the Facebook posting Palin tried to beef up her foreign policy credentials, claiming she was often "ahead of the curve" on issues relating to the Korean peninsula.

"The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us."

"I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and... made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime."

Why does she always have to hit back for every little oopsies? I don't recall Bush taking a swing at the anyone for catching his slip-ups. She's going a little overboard with her constant retaliations.

"I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue"
"yeah" is the new correction.

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

not bad

It was an oversight. Mistakes were made. I have sinned against you. All other lame excuses ...

Honest! It won't happen again until next time.

Report: Conyers' Son Was Driving Government Vehicle That Was Broken Into

Published November 30, 2010 | FoxNews.com

DETROIT -- The son of Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., reported more than $29,000 worth of items stolen from a vehicle he was driving that is registered to the 14th Congressional District his father represents.

MyFoxDetroit.com reported Tuesday that the 2010 Cadillac Escalade was broken into while parked in downtown Detroit. John Conyers III, 20, told police he had been driving the car on Nov. 24 when he left it for an hour only to return to find scratches on the side door and the interior in disarray, the website reported.

Two Apple MacBooks, valued at $1,100 apiece, and more than $27,000 worth of concert tickets to the Fillmore were gone, according to Conyers.

MyFoxDetroit.com reported that the U.S. General Services Administration lists unauthorized use of a government vehicle as a potential firing offense for a government employee.

Rep. Conyers said Tuesday it was “inappropriate” for his son to use his government-issued congressional vehicle over Thanksgiving.

“I am sorry it happened and will make sure that it does not happen again,” Conyers said in a written statement. “I will review the full circumstances of the use of this vehicle and make restitution to the Treasury for any non-official use.”
