Since my boyfriend and I moved in together, we have 2 Alex's in the house. My boy, 14 and his girl, 6. So I call her Lil'A.
Lil'A has a nasty little cough and it's worse at night. Her Dad has a helluva sinus cold, too.
Lil'A is sleeping, a little cough here and there. Ian can't sleep - sinus' hurt. So I start to gently massage the areas the sinus' are and do that for about 1/2 hour - 45 mins - until I finally hear him snoring - I guess the warm cloth and the gentle massage got him to sleep (yay!). So it's about 1:00 A.M now. Then I come downstairs to get a drink and Lil'A is coughing... coughing...coughing... it get's worse so I get a warm glass of water with honey, sit her in my lap and wrap a blanket around her and give her little sips of warm honey drink. We do that for about 30 mins. I start to get up and she sayd, "Katy, could you hold me some more?" **SIGH** How could I NOT?? She's so sweet. So... she still coughs. I get Vicks and rub it on her chest. 1/2 hour later, still coughing. So, finally it's 3:00 A.M and I'm thinking, "Poor little baby - she's going to be flat out exhausted tomorrow". I decide to head out to the Shell gas station/ mini store and get cough meds for her.
I pull up and, of course, there are 4 kids in their early 20's hangin' out. And here I am, in my pajamas cuz frankly I don't give a shit who see's me in them at 3 in the AM. They all kinda stare at me as I walk by so I said, "Yup, these are my pajamas" and I guess that broke the "Oh my God we wanna laugh but it would be rude" tension and they all went in to histerics. Stoned, I think they were
So I go inside and all they had was Buckley's. I have heard how friggin' awful that stuff tastes, but at this time of night, and Lil'A with no sleep, I didn't care.
The face she made when I gave it to her was HILARIOUS! But you know what? She hasn't coughed even ONCE since I gave it to her. I love you Buckley's!! BTW - Buckley's has a webpage dedicated to faces made after taking thier stuff!
