Advice re: a wasps' nest

What do they make it out of? That looks like the insulation that goes between the carpet and the floor in a car.

Wood fibers and chewed wood/paper pulp. I only have to look around my neighbourhood's fences and sheds to see the colours reproduced in this nest.

The red is the generic fence colour of my neighbourhood, f'r instance

We had one in the loft space in the Educaton Centre at the Hospice earlier in the year. Didn't know till we got a queen buzzing around the building. Thankfully the pest exterminators took care of them.
