Cloud-based antivirus programs

These new cloud based AVs seem to be coming on strong.
Personally I don't like the idea.
I don't like sending all that info out.
I also don't know what kind of stress it puts on an in-house network.

Anybody researched this much, tried it, or have info on the bandwidth requirements?

I haven't tried it but I agree with you. There's another aspect of this that you didn't mention. I like the idea of having an app that scans whether your client is connected or not.
