fury at plan to use foetal eggs

Pro-life groups have described the idea of using eggs from an aborted foetus in IVF treatment as "utterly grotesque".
Scientists working in Israel and the Netherlands say they are on the brink of being able to use material from unborn babies to produce artificial eggs.
They have kept ovarian tissue from aborted foetuses alive in the laboratory for several weeks - stopping the experiment at the point where they believed eggs were about to be produced.
But the technique has sparked revulsion from religious groups and ethics campaigners. Nuala Scarisbrick, spokeswoman for antiabortion group Life, said: "Children will have no idea of their own identity and this may lead to psychological problems. The scientists should be ashamed of themselves."
