dumbass Air Force 1

How's about this gem
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/28/nyregion/28plane.html?ref=nyregion

Summary: Some govt toolbags decide that they want a photo of Air Force 1 flying around the Statue of Liberty, but they don't tell anyone. So a 747 comes roaring down the Hudson like a few hundred feet off the ground, and everyone thinks there's another terrorist attack. Last time a plane flew this low around here, very bad things happened. Buildings were evacuated, 911 was swamped with calls, Hudson County and Manhattan became completely chaotic.

All so some fucking retard can have a new picture of Air Force One.

What bugs me too is his whole "cut $100 million from the budget" thing. An Air Force One flight ain't free. Two F-16 escorts ain't free. I wouldn't be surprised if they used almost a million dollars in fuel, manpower, equipment, and military force in order to take these pictures.

This morning, it sounded like, well, a jet engine I guess. Woke me up. Scared the hell out of most of my friends. If you're not familiar with the local geography, Hoboken is due west of Midtown Manhattan, on the west bank of the Hudson.

And we have the fucking swine flu? man, sometimes the NYC view is nice, but other times it sucks

Seems like Fearless Leader is Mocking Us.

An Air Force One lookalike, the backup plane for the one regularly used by the president, flew low over parts of New York and New Jersey on Monday morning, accompanied by two F-16 fighters, so Air Force photographers could take pictures high above the New York harbor.

The mission on Monday, officials said, was set up to create an iconic shot of Air Force One, similar to one that was taken in recent years over the Grand Canyon.

Nothing to see here: probably shots for a propaganda film about 0bama landing Air Force One in the Hudson and saving everyone on board.

Wonderful! A 747 being chased by two F-16s and everyone on the ground is wondering where the hulk will crash when the F-16s blow it out of the air.

Too cute for words
no, he is not mocking us.

someone that works for him
made a bad decision and he's already called it a "mistake" and siad that "it won't happen again."

You're as wrong as wrong can be, minkey. It's clearly a plot to terrorize the white folks into flocking to Obama's muslim, socialistic, non-caucasoid banner. Are you so enamored by his abs and his fake birth certificate that you can't see it?????

(Stupid comments aside...)
I heard about this on the radio. My first thoughts were "what were they thinking?" Here's the latest...
Official who OK'd N.Y. flyby accused of 'felony stupidity'
Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office, quickly apologized for Monday's incident after the planes prompted workers and residents to evacuate buildings in New York and New Jersey.

"Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision," Caldera said. "While federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey, it's clear that the mission created confusion and disruption."
At least he's stepped up... but still... is this the right job for him? I'd fire him.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft, which functions as Air Force One when the president is aboard, was taking part in a classified, government-sanctioned photo shoot.

President Obama also reportedly expressed outrage. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, said the FAA's decision to not announce the flyby "borders on being either cruel or very, very stupid."

Two officials said the White House Military Office was trying to update its file photos of Air Force One. The officials said the president was angry when he learned Monday afternoon about the flight.

"The president was furious about it," one of the officials said.

On Tuesday, Obama told reporters, "It was a mistake. It was something we found out about along with all of you. And it will not happen again."

Obama has ordered a review into "why that decision was made and to ensure that it never happens again," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday. Jim Messina, a deputy chief of staff, will lead the effort.

Bloomberg said he, too, was perturbed.

"I'm annoyed -- furious is a better word -- that I wasn't told," he said, calling the FAA's decision to withhold details about the flight "ridiculous" and "poor judgment."

"Why the Defense Department wanted to do a photo op right around the site of the World Trade Center defies the imagination," he said. "Had we known, I would have asked them not to."

Capt. Anna Carpenter of Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland said local law enforcement agencies and the FAA had been given notice of the exercise.

New York Police Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne said the department had been alerted about the flight "with directives to local authorities not to disclose information about it."
(Go to the link to read the full story. I was trying to condense it.)

I heard that residents who witnessed the events were quite shaken up and panicked.

Of course it won't happen again. They got the stock footage they needed so they won't have to do it again. Easy promise to keep by simply doing nothing.

I'm sure the Obamanites will declare <gushing>"He's so wonderful! Just look at how he kept his promise to not fly Air Force One over New York again!"</gushing>

On Tuesday, Obama told reporters, "It was a mistake. It was something we found out about along with all of you. And it will not happen again."

Does that sound familiar?

In January he (Clinton) said he had known nothing about Hubbell's being retained by the Lippo Group, an Indonesian conglomerate whose owners were long friendly with the President, until he read it in the newspaper late last year.

Still, Ickes got word of Clinton's choice when he read it in the newspaper

PRESIDENT BUSH: First, let me -- she's asking about the Armitage thing. The first I heard of this was when I read it in the newspaper today.

Does that sound familiar?
There are many presidential cabinet positions which must be held by people competent to make a sound decision without micro-management from the President. However, this was a BIG mistake. Regardless of the admission and apology, the position of director of the White House Military Office is not a position that Louis Caldera should be in if he's making a mistake this big. His action deserves his resignation, or his removal.
