i'd like to agree with noite on the cure, especially disintegration :hairbang:

i'd like to add depeche mode, the funsters of electronica to the big 80's pop mix

Don't worry, Tonky ... me not fighting with Von Squiggenstein ... me just making an emphatic, fist slamming on table point.

This is the Wall .. right off of my shelf... gold discs. The back sez 1979, by cracky ... I've based my life upon its teachings. :D

*gives Squig a manly hug to prove to Tonky-tonk that theres no issue of male knuckle dragging here*

Now... as a counterpoint for argument, the first recognized New Wave 80s song was M .. Pop Musik. That was 1979 .. but... christ ... prototypical pure 80s.

being released in late 79, it only makes sense that it would race up the charts in a delayed fashion. Only Michael and Madonna go to numba one on day one.

I just so happen to have not only The Wall on cassette, with a 1979 copyright date, I also bought Echoes, the best of Pink Floyd. It lists the release of Another Brick in the Wall (part 2) as 1979.

Perhaps the source of confusion is the movie version's 1982 copyright date.

Disintegration was their best album, yay :headbang: , but Inbetween..., was the best song (though half of Head on the Door album sucks)
Edit: hey, when I crossed 2000 posts?
