S.S. Flurffmeister, powered by AMD, cooled by Squiggy.

Got his Thermalright SLK-800 w/ Vantec Tornado today, and installed.

There is only one thing I need to say about this heatsink: :beerbang:

Well, what else can I say about a heatsink that drops my full load temperatures from 72° to 52° C? Oh, :headbang: :headbng2: and :beardbng:

Here's one for the :tardbang:, though: I spent as much time as I did installing the heatsink itself before I realized that I had hooked up the power button to the wrong header. :tardbang:

I can run Genome again! :D :D :D :D

Will report back with overclocking results shortly... :bolt:

It's not that hard, jeez, even I did it. It will make a hell of a difference too, fury.

Max stable is apparently 1.69 ghz. A bit disappointing but not surprising, it's an old assed Palomino 1.53 gig.

I'm afraid to do a 7v mod that requires changing around power connectors. What if I put it in the wrong hole? Byebye fan and/or PSU?

man, just connect +12 on the fan to +12 on the psu connector, and neutral on the fan to +5 on the psu connector, done. ALL my fans are that voltage, including Video card fan  verrry quiet ;)

well i'll be farked!

+ 5 is RED on the molex
+12 is YELLOW on the molex

Neutral is BLACK on the fan
+12 is RED on the fan

remember that +12 on the molex is yellow and on the fan its red.
