The shuttle was a brilliant idea ... fucked up by gov't red tape and waste. They're being retired, after a huge upgrade to 386 level computers. If they'd been built like the Hubble, to be regularly upgraded, they'd be worth keeping. Instead, you're falling back to Apollo level spaceships, and taking 3 times the time to design and build them.

3) funny haha shuttle flying over capital when the space program is not constitutional; shuttle overhead is visual metaphor for overstepping of authority which arose as a result of bizarre, progressive ideas about exploration and technology.
