Last living suspect in the Birmingham, AL Babtist church bom

No links, just heard this on PRM. It was some 40 years ago that the bombing occured, and a black Babtist church in Birmingham, Alabama.

The last surviving suspect is going to be brought to trial, I think jury selection is this week, hearings should start in two weeks or so.

Don't remember his name, but he's 72 years old. He wasn't brought to trial earlier because, among other things, the prosecution was worried they couldn't get a conviction.

There is no statute of limitations in child murder cases.

There is a lot of debate over the reliability of 40 year old evidence, the lack of living eye witnesses, etc. The defense is claiming that the prosecution has a huge advantage in that there are no living defense witnesses at all, and the prosecution has had 40 years to collect and study the evidence.
