Hey! I have a question about an Indian ingredient and it occurs to me that I believe you might be able to assist me...if I am wrong - oops.

Soooo...ghee. Is it worth the trouble to make it or is regular old cooking oil acceptable? I want to make saag. Whatcha think?

He's not exactly the most knowledgeable on Indian culture, but he could probably ask his parents, they would probably know.

According to my mom, you will be fine if you use regular cooking oil. However, she did mention that if you have a local “Indian” store in the area, you can get prepared Saag in a can which tastes "excellent."
