The little USB part has a space on the bottom of the mouse to plub into when you put it away. This also turns the mouse off thus saving the battery, which is a single AA. The top pops off to put the battery in.

Yeah ,I saw one at officedepot that looked smaller even than that one. (for a laptop.)
I drink so much coffee, I'd probably get hand cramps with it.
