where do you fall on the political spectrum

Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all.
(agree and right)

quote:
It's fine for women to have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers.
(agree and religous right)

Astrology accurately explains many things.
(agree and left)

quote:
Some people are naturally unlucky.
(agree and socialist)

That's my best guess as to how they're interpreting the questions. In this type of survey it's almost impossible not to generalize the answers.

I was only a notch or two from Ghandi.
Hmmm, i wonder where he went wrong?:D

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 3.12
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.82

I could have told you that without taking a test. I consider myself Conservative in economic matters and libertarian in political and social matters. Perfect fit.

I do think this survey was written by predominately leftists though. Many questions were worded such that a conservative/libertarian idea wasn't represented fairly in the available responses.

Kind of like saying: nuclear war would be terrible, and a world government should be established to prevent such a thing.

Well, of course nuclear war would be bad, but I don't think a world government at this time is anything remotely like a solution. Just an extreme example, but I found many questions unsettling and unfair in this fashion. You either agreed with the whole statement, or disagreed with the whole statement, and there wasn't any way to say "yeah, BUT..."

Exactly. I'm surprised that I'm above the line and not below the line. Weird.

Funny, it seemd to me some of the questions were written bby the right. Maybe a little of both I suppose.

Yeah, I consider myself economically to the right, and I think most people would agree. yet I'm a moderate lefty according to this! And I'm not considered much of a libertarian either, and thats what I would classify myself as if some one asked. Strange! Ok, not really, it was no doubt some lefty tring to convince the world they are also lefties. Or maybe its that issue about not being for Americans. Maybe it was designed for a much more left leaning population. But nevertheless the questions were just bad in many cases, very biased.

That's because you're what, 19? That'll change with time trust me.

I was thinking that most of the questions came from the left. And here i came out on the left, go figure. Maybe it's actually pretty well balanced although not necessarily accurate. I mean, how many people here would believe that i'm on the left, yet i answered honestly.

It's quesstions like

Our nation has many superior qualities.

that seem right wing. Agree=right, disagree=left? Unless you don't like anything about your country odds are your going to pick Right. Not really unbiased or even pertinent.

I see what you mean. It seems to me that that particular question would be to detect socialist sentiments in a person as it seems to me that would be about the only type of person (other than extremist islamists maybe) that would hesitate on such a question. Seems to me that there were a lot like this.

Just out of curiousity Squig, why's that impressive? Someone has decided the center but who's to say that the center is right?

Well, it may not be right, but it's center. Of course most people here aren't going to agree with him, most are far left, with a few that are to the right. Center should be able to discuss both sides equally, without looking like a hypocrite.
