Seeing that thread in the RW forum, about the sheep that prof posted,
made me think. I have a rather limited meat variety that I Always eat.

Beef
pork
chicken
(eggs, penutbutter...other "meat group" foods.)
Deer, when I can get it.

I've never tried caviar, quail, duck, goose, lamb, moose, turtle, snake, cat, dog, possum....

What all have you tried, like, and disliked.

My mom ate caviar one time, and spit it out. She said it was awful.:p
My great-grandmother, as I was told, did in fact cook some possum. I hear
it's a chore to to get the grease out.
I don't think I want to try some dishes.:grinno:
Edit: I would like to try a bison burger some day though.

I've had:
beef, pork, chicken, lamb, fish of all kinds to include shellfish, cuttlefish etc, monkey, cat, deer, antelope, bison, elk, alligator, rabbit, goose, duck, capon, turkey, pheasant, cornish hen, quail and their eggs, octopus, squid, caviar (I like it), I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.

Cat? Come up this way and we'll take you to Ted's for a Bison burger and I'll cook you some lamb.

Bison's good.
Ostrich is .... worse than goose
Moose is (par'dn) da Bomb.
Snake's not bad.
Deer is even more particular than beef where the cook's skill is concerned. So easy to bugger up, but sooooooo damn good when done right.

I forgot ostrich!
lol, I for got fish:laugh: , and turkey.

I mostly like my deer ground, and sometimes I'll mix it half with beef, and make
porcupine balls. I do like tenderlion, but I've only liked the taste of the way 'I' cook it.

Does Ted have a place here, or you talking a trip to TX.?

I had a friend that raised some peacocks, but for the feathers. I don't know
how they cook up.

I regularly consume:

Beef, pork, chicken, various fish, and turkey.

I also consume:

Frog legs (teh roxor of all foodstuffs)
Cornish hen

I have consumed:

Deer/venison. No more. I'm as Southern as boll weevils but I ain't eatin no damn deer. Not the way you fix it, not the way your uncle Eddie fixes it, I don't care if Paula Dean fixes it I ain't eatin it.

Buffalo/bison one or t'other. Not for me.

Squirrel. Not crazy about it.

Rabbit. Don't really remember it much, would give it a try.

Krystal burgers. Don't nobody try telling me they're beef either. They ain't no 50 scientists what could figure out what's in them things. For our northern contingency, they are White Castles without the holes drilled in 'em so they actually got to be flipped when they cook, but taste about 17 times better.

I have had Cornish hen.
I never could bring myself to try...
frog legs
squirrel, or rabbit, but I hunted my share of um, and watched others
eat um.
I don't like any seafoods, other than the fishes.

I saw what was supposed to be a rat cooked over open fire on TV, but after
you find so many of um dead and stinkin from being poisoned....*puke2*

Not sure about squirrel...but rabbit/hare is excellent and frogs-legs are pretty good, but fried, they beat chicken wings :)

The classics, (beef, pork, chicken, fish and seafood *lobster, muscles, clams, oysters, calamari etc..) - all good to me
caviar - didn't like it at all
quail - good, but small..you have to eat 2-3 of them to take the edge off of your hunger :p
duck - like chicken, but dryer
goose - ditto
lamb - as often as I can... you can do a lot with it.
moose - gamey...didn't like it as much as venison
horse - pretty good but don't overcook it...med-rare or less.
shark - it was okay...no more than that
goat - pretty good, though tough to chew
Oxtail - excellent...less fatty than beef.
Boar - very VERY good..on par with sirloin IMHO

I'm sure there are more, but I've forgotten them ATM

my dad hated clams, and muscles, but love raw oysters:confused:
Not me.
Now I might try lobster claw, or king crab....maybe...

hmm, I heard that goose, and duck greasier than chicken.
May be the way it's cooked.
The dryness is what I like about turkey breast, especially in turkey salad,
so I may have to try some goose, and duck. Lord knows they are regulars
around here.:beardbng:

I always hated oysters...up until I was pregnant with Marlowe. Now I eat them any chance I get. I especially like them raw or in dishes where they are cooked on the half shell with various toppings.
No one has mentioned crawfish. I could eat my weight in good crawfish.

cow, pig, chicken, turkey, fish, squid, octopus, other assorted seafood, squirrell (not a fan), frogs, human, deer, duck, bison, beefalo, lamb.

I've had good bison (at the Old Faithful Inn) and horrible bison (diner in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario). There is a local beefalo farm that sells the meat to a brewpub, very good.
Other assorted seafood would include crawfish. I'm not a big seafood fan, crawfish is no exception.
