it just occured to me that some might not be getting the massive coverage of the world cup that we are, or not know how it works.

8 groups of four teams [32 countries] play in a group stage from which the top two teams go through to knockout stages. 3pts are awarded for a win and 1pt of a draw. i believe that in the event of a draw goal difference is the deciding factor
