Still around, but mostly just reading every 2 to 3 days.

    RAM

Some processes (OS related) need extra privileges to make things work on a computer system so when you boot up they are automatically loaded and run as the root user, most of the time you should not worry about them. I have never used the exiftool, but when someone says cd to the "folder"...

    Linux switch? It's time!

I tend to disable the update manager and do my updates straight from the command line, but AFAIK, it asks for permission before applying an update, it shouldn't just do it. Removing programs in a newer release goes against the tendency of putting more programs available for the user. Still...

    People of Walmart

Never seen that over here, it must be hard for my poor uneducated country(wo)men to be in the states and not try to imitate such *cool* behavior ;) And what does it have to do where I'm from anyway?, it doesn't make those pics any less disgusting

    Bluetooth in Home Audio equipment?

There *should* be some kind of headphone jack to bluetooth adapters for sale somewhere, there are probably some bluetooth to rca, should be cheaper than a full home theater. (I actually don't know if such convertors exists, but I doubt I'm the first one to think of them)

    Linux switch? It's time!

AFAIK, dist upgrades can't be done automatically (maybe to an LTS version, but definitely to upgrade to an alpha), you probably hit the upgrade by accident....OR a package related to the "about" got upgraded and it reports as a newer version. It is unlikely that the distupgrade happened without...

    Bluetooth in Home Audio equipment?

I don't know much about the offering of bluetooth devices, but I'd recommend to not rely on it for interconnecting devices other than headsets and occasional music play. It is slow and won't allow you to stream video to the home theater, heck, not even 802.11g can keep up with standard...

    Linux switch? It's time!

Yeah, for a 17" 4:3 1280x1024 is pretty much the standard and for 17" 16:9 1920x1080 (sometimes 1920x1200), and you should install the desktop edition.
