Is Suppression a Rule of Marxism?

It's not so much that you give up free will, Marx simply doesn't believe in free will. He believes that our choices are determined by the economic and social forces acting on us. Since he doesn't believe in free will, he doesn't believe in freedom either. A bayonet or the muzzle of a gun, those...

    Is protesting still good?

Well... what makes any statement true is its correspondence with reality, so what would make you right is if your beliefs correspond with reality. I guess what I'm asking is, do you believe that reality is unknowable, or do you just lack confidence in your own ability to identify what is real?

Bush Accuses Damascus of Developing Chemical Weapons(And other stories)

Nope. I've said before that anyone who wanted to see a link between the war on Iraq and the war on terrorism should look at a map.

Syria could be next, warns Washington

Saddam sure did go to a lot of trouble to hide the fact that he didn't have any WMDs. If the son-of-a-bitch really had gotten rid of them, why did he stonewall the inspectors? They'll be found. Give it time.

What form of government does the Star Trek universe follow?

Sisko was cool. I liked him. DS9 just didn't have the good stories. As a friend of mine put it, "our new mission: to boldly stay in one place, like no one's ever stayed before..."

    Is protesting still good?

Kuwait isn't as bad as Iraq. Sanctions weren't working to disarm Iraq. I wrote a long post addressed to Squiggy a week ago on why we shouldn't attack SA first, and I repeated the answers yesterday in another thread, so I won't go into them again.

What form of government does the Star Trek universe follow?

Right. He has two sets of totally contradictory values and he always sticks to them. One week he sticks to one set, and the next week he sticks to the other. :P ;) (Actually, I like Picard better than Kirk too. It was mainly in the early episodes that he was such a...

Is Suppression a Rule of Marxism?

Not that the stuff about Kant isn't interesting *cough*rubbish*cough*, but let's get back to communism... Here's a quote from Engels where he argues against the anarcho-socialists who he describes as anti-authoritarians: Is suppression part and parcel of communist theory?

    Serious question

Actually, Saladin didn't come along until after the First Crusade. He inspired the Third Crusade when he took Jerusalem.

    OTC Members please vote

Okay. I went ahead and voted 'yes' after reading the exact wording of the question. We're going to do something against them whether it's an outright invasion or just a serious aerial pummeling.
