I'm using XP Pro and Firefox 1.0 and the only real problems I have is with PiL where I get really really weird formatting on the post reply pages. Other than that the only other thing is intermittent 'This document contains no data' errors from know legit sites.....nothing a quick close/open...

PC games are generally more fun than PS2 games and I'm yet to see an in depth thinker game that isn't a PC port besides the FF series ;) I'm thinking graphics too Les......do these games make any kind of crash logs in their root or subdirectories? If so yer answer may be in there. If not...

Something else has started happening (dontcha just LOVE technomology ;))... if I turn my PC off and leave it for a while, then turn it back on....when I get back into windows my display settings are gone and the things in 8-bit colour at 640x480. Doesn't do that with a restart or quick power...

Yeah a few times but now here's a kicker: it restarted/locked up 3 times in the hour after I powered it on from cold but it hasn't done it since. It did the same thing yesterday, knocked the voltage down a few hangs/resets then as stable as a very stable thing. Cat: Yeah I was looking at...

I've had mine as the Tubular Bells tune from the Exorcist for ages, but before I got my new phone it was Sonne by Rammstein.

Nice PSU Winky......has the input range switch too (with the difference in North American and UK power it's a must).....I might just get one.....

Heh.....the best supplier would be my local (and Europes biggest) computer fair. Problem is it's all down to chance on what you are gonna find there PSU wise, most people just do generic 350w supplies so you really have to look for the good stuff. I'm confident I won't have to buy off the net...

It was £56 before tax about £65 after tax and then £8 or so shipping and handling so that comes to about $150 or so after conversion.......I'm NOT buying from there again. edit: Heres the site I bought it from the Antec TruePower 430

Seems it's not the problem, knocking the voltage down has dropped the CPU and PSU temps to 35 degrees and 40 degrees respectively. However after following Posty's advice I can safely say its the GFX card. The error on the bluescreen was PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA and it threw up NV4_disp.dll...

Well it seems to be a lot more stable now......maybe that was the problem.....

When I get some cash (i.e. when I don't owe the bank money and get my ass into a new job) I think I'm gonna have to get a new heatsink (using the AMD stock heatsink and fan that came with the CPU) and a couple of case fans. I've knocked the cpu voltage down to 1.45....lessee if that affects...

Heh....nah CPU runs idle at 1-2% load, I got your meaning ;) CPU is AMD Athlon 2500+ XP (barton core) with a default voltage of 1.65 volts which is why I'm a little confused at the 1.88v that its registering in the BIOS :S

Nope just had another one......it only actually restarts very infrequently, most of the time it just totally locks up and I manually have to power off. I have however turned off auto restart to see if that has any effect on the situation. Noticed something interesting in the BIOS...

Both PS fans are spinning:- ones sucking, ones blowing but there was a hell of a lot of dust on the intake fan. Um......fuck shit and bollocks.... I have just started my PC from cold after it having been off all night......the CPU temp is at 51 degrees which will drop but is too damn high and the PWM temp which I'm guessing is the PSU temp is at 6fucking2 degrees. It's never run that hot...
