6 billion in bribes may not be enough.

Didn't we get in a big squabble with France and Germany because they wanted us to hold off on bolstering Turkey's defenses?

The Turks are amazing. THey've already said yes. We're building bases on their land. We have GI's & planes in country. Must be the Clinton News Network that doesn't like it ;)

Turkey was promised 'X' for their cooperation in the first war that was never delivered. Theyre just making sure that any payoff is cash up front this time.

So you're saying this article isn't true?

No. I;m saying that the press has jumped on the anti-war bandwagon & is exploiting the hell out of it. Looking for anyone to say anything unfavorable.

Just because it needs to be said...Gonz, your new sig is rediculous...None of those things have ended....

I don't know about you, but I am seeing all types of Iraq related news still being reported by the press.

Would you prefer to not discuss topics like the one I posted since it doesn't have a purely "feel good as we go to war" theme to it?

Mostly with Bush's mouth imo. There is simply no need to say what one is thinking 100% of the time. We don't need to hear about the attempts on his dads life and whoever created the term axis of evil...well i'm simply at a loss of words for such stupidity.

Turkey still may not support this thing

But then again...
Turkey signals willingness to let U.S. troops use bases
By Keith B. Richburg and Peter Slevin
Washington Post

ANKARA, Turkey - After weeks of hard bargaining and delay, Turkey signaled Friday that it is willing to allow U.S. troops to use bases on Turkish soil to open a northern front against Iraq in exchange for billions of dollars in aid and help for billions more in loans.
Negotiations continued and were set to go through the weekend, but senior Turkish leaders suggested a deal is all but final. Their statements marked a sharp departure, in tone and substance, from earlier Turkish insistence that the U.S. military could not use Turkey for an attack against Iraq unless all Turkey's financial and political demands were met.
