Why?

Why shouldn't schools do it? If it were up to some parents, you'll have kids either growing up to be sexually repressed screw-ups or they'll just learn nothing at all except what they hear from their friends and see in the media.
 
Becuase the schools wont carry the same values a parent has and the like. If a parent sees fit to teach abstinence then it should be taught. If the parents are more comfortable teaching other aspect of sexuality then so be it. It is a family's business.
