A real crisis

Southern Discomfort
A Texas woman who called 911 because her daughters were misbehaving was described as aghast when the operator sarcastically asked whether she wanted dispatch to send someone over to shoot the little tyrant, reports the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram.

Lori, whose full name was not published to protect her privacy, called the wise crack “a slap in the face” and demanded that the dispatcher be severely punished. She said she was offended by the uncaring nature of the dispatcher.

The dispatcher, Mike Forbess (whose privacy was not deemed worthy of protection) immediately told “Lori” he was joking and apologized, but he was nonetheless formally reprimanded.

**end**

OK, what we got here is someone too stupid to breed. She calls 911 to get help making her kids behave? Ever heard of bustin' their ass Lori? It works.

And one is to assume that the entire time she spent on the phone, going through the channels to get to a supervisor and repeatedly explaining the confrontation and going over the process, the little hellions were doing....what again? Sitting there like cherubs? She tied up a 911 line for how long was it? Hope nobody had fallen and couldn't get up or anything while Lori was getting expert child rearing advice from a 911 operator.

Dude got it wrong anyway. The kids should not have been shot. SHE should.

I really tire of stupid people...

Should have just gotten her address and driven over there and actually slapped the bitch around a bit. 911 for misbehaving kids? :disgust2:

*sigh* And there are more, new and better ways to be stupid with each passing day, aren't there?

The caller is an idiot. The 911 operator needs to be fired. Their job is to take every call seriously. Laugh at the fools off the line. This reminds me of the 911 operator in Boston who, after hearing about the same accident innumerable times told one caller "Tough shit". (or reasonable facsimile)

Arrest her for misuse of a vital emergency response system and put the kids in CPS. We'll all be better off.

Anyone hear the 911 tape from southern California where the woman wanted 911 to send an officer to the Burger King she was in the drive-thru at because they messed up her order and weren't good at making it right?

well the woman and the person in Inkys post have both failed at life. 911 is for emergencies. But as Gonz said he should have taken the call seriously.

i can sympathise with those 911 operators. what they did was wrong, but i can see how easily it can happen. the levels of ignorance and sheer stupidity are mind boggling. everyone has their breaking point.

Wait one minute.......

You hear everyday how a mother kills her kids and then herself......What really were the kids doing? How old is this mother-not that age matters! Maybe the Mom really was going to snap and she panicked and called 911......

Personally, I think its nuts to call 911 for misbehaving kids, BUT, you have to sit and think maybe this Mom had other things in mind and that call was the only other thing that saved her childrens lives?????? :lloyd:

:hmm: This wasn't you, Mare, was it? :D

Anyhow...the mother who kills her children rarely kills herself.
Does it really mater what the kids were doing? I'm pretty sure that, if a weapon isn't mentioned, and violence isn't mentioned/heard on the phone that it's just regular childhood mischief. ;)

When I was a child I would never think about going against my parents....I think it was a healthy fear of the consequenses, especially when my dad gave me the look and followed it with "And I don't mean 'maybe'." I think I turned out alright, give or take a little problem with authority figures.....

Parents thesedays are afraid to dicipline their kids. They've either let it get to the point of no return where their kids show them absolutely no respect, or a parent is hesitant to physically enforce what they demand of their kids because they are afraid of loosing them to a foster home while charges of abuse are investigated by social services and the police because they spanked them on the butt.

Even I am agreeing with this
