Consider that the symbol of the United States is the eagle.




Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia
would awaken a fearsome Eagle.
The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the
lands of Allah and lo,
while some of the people trembled in despair still
more rejoiced;
for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of
Allah; and there was peace.

(Note the verse number!)

SHAKIR: But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

I got the e-mail too, SnP. Why do people persist in making shit like this up when the facts are so easily checked?
 
Actually, I don't believe there are any eagles in the Quran. It's been a long time since I read it, but are there any eagles in what is now Iraq and Saudi Arabia? The whole thing takes place in that general area (where Mohammed lived).

Edit: I was thinking about this at lunch.
