another liar?

Finally after 30 years of waiting a soldier is willing to sign an affadavit as to his Winter Soldier Investigation testimony, he is the first to do so.

My name is Steve Pitkin, age 20, from Baltimore. I served with the 9th Division from May of '69 until I was airvaced in July of '69. I'll testify about the beating of civilians and enemy personnel, destruction of villages, indiscriminate use of artillery, the general racism and the attitude of the American GI toward the Vietnamese. I will also talk about some of the problems of the GIs toward one another and the hassle with officers.
-- Steve Pitkin, Winter Soldier Investigation, February 1, 1971.

. . . . 33 years later . . . . .

. . . . 8. During the Winter Soldier Investigation, John Kerry and other leaders of that event pressured me to testify about American war crimes, despite my repeated statements that I could not honestly do so. One event leader strongly implied that I would not be provided transportation back to my home in Baltimore, Maryland, if I failed to comply. Kerry and other leaders of the event instructed me to publicly state that I had witnessed incidents of rape, brutality, atrocities and racism, knowing that such statements would necessarily be untrue. . . . .

Steven J. Pitkin about his role the winter soldier investigation, sworn affadavit 31st day of August, 2004.
So yet another Vet comes out against Kerry and not a peep from the media about this.

Must be another Karl Rove ploy eh?

Yesterday's Lies: Steve Pitkin and the Winter Soldiers

This seems to be a pattern among people that knew kerry, commin' forth with the truth!

As some talk show guy or another said last week, "we all know Bill lied but it wasn't about something important" & then went on a rampage against Bush, completely ignoring the lies from Kerry.

Proven liar to suspected liar to proven liar? Not a good plan.

Sorry, they're all politicians. Liars by definition.

But is this fella isn't a politician, he was a young man that got caught up in the movement 30 years ago.

Now that he is coming forward not as a 527, but by himself, is he another liar? Will he be smeared or will his admission ever see the light of day from the media?

???

I really don't think Kerry has a chance in hell anymore.
In this area anyway, what with Zell backing the Pres., and in wartime.

Even old "die-hard Dems." in this area are voting Bush.
Like my 90 year old Grandfather, who has voted Dem. all his voting life, is even
voting Rep this time. :glasses3:

Now, should Bush win in November, it will be interesting to see what our left-leaning friends say in 2008 when the USA is still here and they still have the freedom to say as they wish.

I don't have enough ink to cover that particular compendium of quotes. ;)

Never thought he had one in the first place, cat. It's just that Bush's religious right wing power base scares me slightly more than Kerry's PC left wing crowd. It's close, though. I understand why most of the moderates don't vote any more though. Who would they vote for?

Inky, I'll let you in on a little secret. No matter who gets elected, the U.S. will still be here in 2008 and not substantially changed in either case.

You know that and I know that, and most of us know that. But there are quite a few in our midst, posting at this site and at others some, if not all, of us also frequent, who don't seem to share that belief.
