Humans could marry robots within the century. And consummate those vows.

"My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots," artificial intelligence researcher David Levy at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands told LiveScience. Levy recently completed his Ph.D. work on the subject of human-robot relationships, covering many of the privileges and practices that generally come with marriage as well as outside of it.

At first, sex with robots might be considered geeky, "but once you have a story like 'I had sex with a robot, and it was great!' appear someplace like Cosmo magazine, I'd expect many people to jump on the bandwagon," Levy said.

i would be very surprised if people could ever marry robots. it's like when people that say things like "if gay people can marry, why can't people marry their dogs?"

as for sex with robots... i wonder if levy knows you can already do that! they make machines for that. i guess a machine and a robot are not exactly the same thing... but... whatevs.
 
I bet taxachusetts is the first or second to allow it too. Cali might beat 'em. They'll let damn near anything marry up yonder from what I hear.
 
Why would you need to marry a robot? Does it yenta you into it? Does it's family snub you if you don't? There couldn't possibly be a robot shotgun wedding....
 
I don't know about the quietness but I am thinking the blowjob and drink could be taken care of with a nice trip to Off Broadway shoes.
