Anyone tried the Sony Online Entertainment game "PlanetSide"?

I did once as a beta tester. i have a couple of buds that beta'd for sony. played great but i cant see spending 50.00 for the game and the Only way i get to play it is then pay a monthly fee of 12.00 or what ever it is now.
I truely think it will go the way of tribes there will be more online players than actual games sold.. just my thought.
 
I've read alot about it and seen some screen shots. Looks cool, but I need a better computer before I can play it. I need a new computer so I can play Star Wars Galaxies.
 
I judt heard on the radio that sony is putting out a new game where you can be a toronto subway worker defending against Quebec Seperatists. Didn't catch the game's name. Anyone else heard of this?
