avatars not uploading?

hi fury and/or sam, i've just tried to change my avatar [and incidentally, upload a small image into a post], both failed. incidentally, mufu's pic in ents fails to show too [i am using a img link for the time being].

the avatar error is:

Warning: Unable to create 'images/avatars/avatar-112.jpg': Permission denied in /home/xibasec/public_html/otcentral/admin/Upload.class.php on line 156

Warning: Unable to move '/tmp/php9RNZXW' to 'images/avatars/avatar-112.jpg' in /home/xibasec/public_html/otcentral/admin/Upload.class.php on line 156

is this a problem because we've just switched server?

Phew, glad it was something as simple as chmod 777 images/avatars/ and chmod 777 attachments/
