Axis of Weasel

Maybe we should just bring our troops home. Get France & friends to pay back all the restoration costs that they owe us & be done with it.

"Old Europe" threw down the gauntlet at the feet of Britain, the United States and the Atlantic Alliance at a mini-summit yesterday, unveiling plans for a new Euro-army with its own military headquarters.

France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg - described by some in the US as the "Axis of Weasel" - vowed to press ahead with a full-fledged defence union, brushing aside warnings that the move would entrench the European Union's bitter divisions over Iraq and could lead to the break-up of Nato.

Done with what? Iraq?

Nope, we're committed to spending a whole shitload of money over there for a long time.

the notion of a euro-army has been on the books for a while now, nothing particularly scary or new in that.

It just wouldn't be right if ShrubCo didn't insult them and give them some corny stupid name though.

seems a bit silly to me - they had a disagreement about one thing. there are many other things that they agree on and could work on agreeing on some things better.
can't see the reasoning in trying to drive wedges further between countries.

then again, you can bet some of the eu countries have some pretty childish things to say about the us/uk. don't see the point in that either.

This is far from the first disagreement we;ve had, between nations, especially with France. It just happens this time it involved Chiracs ego instead of sense & there were lives on the line.

With their past "victories" I can can't see what you're worried about.... now if it was Russia...

Speaking of Russia...I heard he was giving Blair a real hard time in the last day or two. Questions like, "Where's saddam?" or "when will we see the WMDs?" type of crap. Good thing Blair is courteous...He could have asked Putin "Where's the Soviet Union?" :rofl2:

Should've buried a bone in his 30 X 30 foot backyard, gave him a teaspoon, and told him to find it... :D
