I have a lot of respect for the French. When they wanted to get rid of their monarchy they did so without any way of bringing it back.

When the Brits got rid of their monarchy they executed Chuck-1 but brought back the monarchy with Chuck-2 in 1660 after making a feeble attempt at being a republic for only 11 years.

every time I see/hear the word 'Bastille'. I think back to when
my literature teacher made me read 'tale of two cities'

What really blew my mind was when I started getting into it, and liked it.
