Thought I would recommend these for the parents on the board. If you get them, be sure to read them yourself, because they're actually enjoyable for adults too.
  • Black Ships Before Troy: The Story of the Illiad, by Rosemary Sutcliff, illustrations by Alan Lee
  • The Wanderings of Odysseus: The Story of the Odyssey, by Rosemary Sutcliff, illustrations by Alan Lee
  • Gilgamesh the King, written and illustrated by Ludmilla Zeman
  • The Revenge of Ishtar, written and illustrated by Ludmilla Zeman
  • The Last Quest of Gilgamesh, written and illustrated by Ludmilla Zeman
  • Greek Gods and Heroes, by Alice Low, illustrations by Arvis Stewart
The reading level for the first two is 10+, and for the last four it's 6 or 7+. The illustrations are exceptional, particularly the ones by Lee and Zeman. If you get any of these, I'd be happy to hear how much, or whether, you enjoyed them. :)
