Me, I don't see a problem. I also don't live there.

The Prime Minister, Tony Blair, said last night that he was prepared to commit Britain to entry to the euro despite public opinion polls showing a majority against the single currency.

Mr Blair made clear that the threat of war on Iraq and stock market turbulence had not dimmed his personal commitment to Britain's entry to the euro, if the five economic tests were met.

Rest of the story

i don't see a problem either, we should wait for the brits to arrive to this thread:

The Euro will bring forth Europe to become the next super power. All the wealthier countries will have issue at first but that's to be expected. It won't last long though.

10 kingdoms will come forth, and for 7 years there will be tribulation on earth. The beast will make a pact for Israel, and after 3 1/2 years he will break it. All the nations will rise up against Israel and the final war will be called Armageddon, at the end of 7 years, when all will fight against Israel and God himself will intervene and defeat the nations of the earth. :)

got no problem with the euro, i have reservations with parts of it but in prinicipal i'm in favour.

i think euro is a great idea.

btw, ris, do you have some links to the "personalized" british euro coins/"paper money" prototipes??

luis - i've not seen any of the proposed brit euro's yet, coins or notes.

justin - it's just coins in my pocket, not sovereignty or anything more. my reservations are to do with inflation and interest rates being directly out of the hands of the bank of england but in honesty its a slight one.
look at the days pre-decimal - loads of people worried that it would be a huge problem, we were losing identity etc. placing too much emphasis on the form of currency we use [we would retain a major role in the running of the currency if were in because of our size] seems a tiad overprotective.

plus it would do our industries and tourist trades a whole shitload of good.

btw - i trust you are buying your goods decimal now, now more teenths and eighths D [now there's a damn stupid euro-rule rolleyes]

In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out of the nations, and now all of them live in safety. You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.

Ezekiel 38:8

Its always been a dream of mine to be economically tied to France. *snicker*

Don't bow down to the Euro before you stock up on a few cases of Anal-eze. It should make the transition a touch easier.
