A British court has sentenced two Algerians to 11 years in prison each after convicting them of raising funds for the al-Qaida terrorist network.
The court in the central English city of Leicester convicted Brahim Benmerzouga and Baghdad Mezine of using credit card fraud to raise thousands of dollars for an international network planning terrorist operations.
The two had entered Britain illegally and were living in Leicester when arrested in September 2001.
