Censorship, or just a little class

SUN HAS PUBLISHED a set of adverts which it claims were rejected by august publications including the Wall Street Journal.
The adverts claim that the servers are better than the X86 servers Dell sells, and include headlines such as "Rhymes with Hell", "100% more bitchin' than Dell" and "Benchmark studies prove that Dell sucks".

AMD Zone picked this up, and the pics of the adverts are on this Sun site. µ

The papers have the right to refuse any advertising they wish, so long as it isn't covered by shit like FEC regs.

If one private enterprise says no, that opens a lot of possibilities. If governement disallows something, using the rule of law, it censorship. McDonalds can't put you in jail. Tennessee can.

And if the national trade paper (which is read by 90% of your target market) refuses to run your ad???

Free enterprise.

The ads in question are not intended for the WSJ target audience. It makes no sense to run them.
