Christmas/Chanukah/whatever shopping

When do you start?
Every year I tell myself I am going to start early and be done early before the crowds and marked up pricing. So I am starting right about now. I plan on doing as much online as possible and I also plan to use Marlowe's school's book fair to the best of my advantage.
Anyone have any aces up their sleeve in this regard?
 
It's AUGUST!!!!

If someone ever decides to set up a xmas tree at my house it will be done when he/she decides. Most likely by mid December.
 
I'm talking about the present shopping, Luis.
I generally set up the tree shortly after Thanksgiving.

The present list is empty. I'm more of a whatever I feel like when buying, perhaps I'll take a look at some store a few days before.
