Civilian vs military law...

It seems odd to me that one of the rape victims wouldn't want to have the info released to bolster the case... unless it was the doc acting unilateraly in an ACLUish move to protect all patient rights.

One very important thing the doc forgot, though, is this. The victim's soul may belong to whatever deity she believes in, but her body is government property. The doctor-patient confidentiality only applies when there is no criminal investigation. In fact, military doctors are required to disclose any information on any patient thought to be violating any statute of the UCMJ, or victimized by someone else who falls under the UCMJ. In other words, any other cadet that may be responsible for any violent acts upon her person.
