CNN President a bigot

Someone can change in 50 years. Just because someone had a view in the 1950's doesn't mean they still believe it today.

Aaah, being born in South Africa... Everyone outside of SA hates me because I tortured blacks, and everyone inside SA hates me because I'm white... Boy, am I glad to be out of that fucked up place.

And I agree with s4... Even though his comments were uncalled for, the media is yapping at it again.

my experience is that people either change as little as they possibly can, or as much as it takes to get one step ahead of the other guy.

Did you? :D Since you're obviously post-apartheid, then you've nothing to be ashamed of. If, however, you relish the idea of beating someone just because of their color, then you've got a serious problem...:grumpy:

I grew up for a few years there... Before I was 10. I don't remember too much of it though.

I do remember my parents treating the gardener and butler rather well though (worked for my grandparents for 25+ years). And I also remember them raising me when I was little, even though they were black.

*shrug* I have no quarrels with someone that has a different skin color. I do know it was KKK heaven for a few years, but I dislike that group quite a bit.

The reason I say "tortured blacks" is because that is the general perception. Perception usually takes place over facts, and most people do not know all the facts of what happened in South Africa. And yes, I have had people ask me "so you tortured blacks?" Ugh, no I did not... Some of them raised me. That is ONE reason why I very rarely tell people where I was born. They always, always come back with stupid questions on "torturing blacks". Unfortunately I will never be able to get that part of me changed (my birth place).
