ok my McAfee virus scan is almost out of date, Actually i really didnt like it anyway. Whats the best way to get one. Go to the store and butit and load it, or go online and purchase and download it? And whom should i get?

The free version of AVG is great.

And I recommend CounterSpy --- It is $20 for a year, but works very well. I use it in place of SpyBot and Adaware.

Adaware is too good ant more, but spybot is great Now.
the new ver 1.5.2 has many feature in advanced mode, and IMO is all the spyware one needs.

I've been using AVG since about 2004 sometime. I hear good things about Avast also, but AVG is what I tried first and it's worked well, so I never got around to trying Avast.

I've used both AVG and Avast. In fact, I've got AVG on this one and Avast on my laptop (not running anything on the Linux boxes or the Mac). Avast does this cool thing buy default where it tells you out loud the update is complete. :nerd:

yeah it put me on edge too, fur sure.

i'm gonna go fire up an old comp I got, and see if it pops up on it.
