Five family members, who got involved in the arrest process of a relative because of his droopy jeans, spent New Year's Eve behind bars, according to police.

Deputies said Florida State University student Franz Leger was banned from a mall last summer for wearing saggy jeans. But when Leger returned Monday, police arrested him for trespassing.

When the student's family heard what was happening, Leger's father, mother, sister and two cousins got involved. All were handcuffed and taken to jail. http://www.local6.com/news/14957504/detail.html

Boy, those Florida malls are tough:

yeah, cops are like that. They so enjoy when family members or other folks step in to help them do their job that usually they'll just let them spend more time together down to the jail. Can't beat bonding while posting bond ya know...

The malls around here have rules that like that seem a little odd at first, but really make sense even in these suburbian parts. I wonder if the no baggy ass jeans rule was posted and well known. If not, they should have asked him to leave and come back with more fitted pants next time. If they banned him and he knowingly came back, he should have been hauled off. That is a direct violation and he knew it.

As for the family getting involved, if they wanted to do something about it they should have taken it up with the mall big wigs in a calm fashion. Not went and got themselves hauled off as well. Asshats.
