Nixy Elimi-nistrator Staff member Jul 29, 2007 #1 My computer randomly crashed earlier...some screen with a bunch of characters on it flashed and then nothing...when I restarted it, it did a disk check and then all my book marks were gone...all my saved passwords too...wtf?

Luis G <i><b>Problemator</b></i> Staff member Jul 29, 2007 #2 If you didn't install a thing on it or made changes then there must be a faulty driver or faulty hardware. Data loss is collateral to a crash because files aren't closed properly.

Luis G <i><b>Problemator</b></i> Staff member Aug 7, 2007 #4 Probably an energy spike or some weird combinations of events that the OS couldn't manage. If it's been find ever since then it is nothing to worry about, bugs surface from time to time.
