Country music?

Be honest ... I have a new appreciation for it myself, never really had anything against it ... but after listening to Kevin Fowler and Tracy Byrd I have a new love for it.... so come on .. 'fess up y'all :D
 
yes. i like all kinds of music except most pop so yes although i prefer willie nelson and johnny cash and older country but all country i like.
 
Todays country reminds me of yesterdays rock-n-roll, ie early Stones, Amboy Dukes, even Pretenders. "cept it has that god-awful twang.
 
I've always had a weak spot for Willie Nelson, and Randy Travis. Aside from those two, I don't listen to it much. Not to mean I don't hear it much, I live in Missouri. Country is by far the way of life around here.
 
It's not big in NY. As a matter of fact, I think I know of one country music station and I don't even think it's still in existance.

I'm not a fan. That being said, I went out with a guy years ago who liked a little country and I liked Randy Travis too. I like two songs by Garth Brooks but that's about as far as I go.
 
i'm with insert gianthair here, country and folk [especially folk] are works of pure eeeevil.
 
I hate country too, except Shania Twain, except it would be more pseudo-country, but the visuals are more in line with the sound ;). I sincerely hope any of you never heard Quebec country music, that stuff alone can make people hate music *puke*. English stuff is more bearable, but I'm not personnaly fond of it.
 
For a true idea of how awful country music can be, just listen to some Country 'n' Irish.

Has anyone ever heard the story about Pam Tillis and the operation she had after her car accident?
 
I sort of dislike it intensely too. Reminds me of barn dances and those annoyingly predictable songs that you can't get out of your head.
 
I'm afraid I have to go into the "thanks, but no" category for country music too. There are a very few songs I like, mostly older ones, but not much else.

I like all music, over 500 cd's and a pure mixture from old style country to new age music.
But for newer country i do like brooks and dunn. they are more of what i would call a rockabilly type.
My favorite song would have to bo Hank Williams Jr. Countryboy can survive. :headbang:
