Drive help

Well now my D drive is acting up for no reason. It was working fine untill recently.

I put in a cd of anykind and get no response. I cheked the device manager and windows reports it as working properly but when I click on the D drive in my computer I get the message

D:\ is not accessible
Incorrect function.

Any ideas or help...thanks.

ah hell....now my second E drive isn't working either. It looks fine, burns fine, windows reports it as fine but when I insert a disk I get nothing. When I click on the E disk it shows up empty even when there is a disk inside.

No..it started working on its own now. I swear technology does not like me. Thanks.

well in that case, your cable may be loose where it plugs into the mobo.

I had this on a customer's computer not too long ago. It seemed to stem from some kind of bug in Windows XP's integrated CD burning capabilities, when I disabled that the drive was fine.
