entertainment or joke?

I don't see anything wrong with it. He is certainly deserving after all he has done for the music world. If they can knight Sir Paul then Mick is just as deserving.

How many British Musicans are there that have been on the charts for 40 years besides him and McCartney that are still performing? Jagger still sounds great.

Paul is an outspoken charity heavyweight and all around human rights guru. Does Mick have any credentials outside of music?

Mick was there when WTC people needed donations. He put on a pretty good performance as did the Who during a benefit concert for the victims of the WTC attack.

Still, those are music based credentials. Hes just singing and giving the money away. That requires no special dedication or belief or even slight discomfort.

He didn't have to be there. He's got plenty of money and popularity. He donated his time and singing ability to the cause not to mention his name involved in the project which is huge in the US and around the world.

I did a search on Google for the words "Jagger charity" and came up with: Results 1 - 10 of about 6,540. I am sure that there are not 6,000 links to talk about here, but I did find several links that were valid.
