I used my Best Buy Xmas gift card to buy Everquest Gold (all the expansion packs) today. I get home & fortunately(?) notice, all over the back is INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED, additional fee's too possibly.

I looked into it & yes, it's an online game only

Are there any free servers? I don't want to pay $50. for a game & then be forced to pay more, monthly.

Before I open it or return it I need knowledge...please

Return it. It's something like 20 bucks a month to join their servers, and there aren't any free ones that I'm aware of. That's why it's called Evercrack.

I remember havign to pay like once every 6 months ... and it wasn't super expensive ... but they never stop drawing against your credit card short of a lawsuit.

Its only online, and it is only $12.95 a month. I played it on and off for three years. I was never addicted since I never raided, never really grouped (Wizard duh), and spend 75% of my time socializing with people instead of levelling. Hehe. Great game.
