HONOLULU — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating what caused the pilots of a go! airliner to overshoot the Hilo airport by 15 miles. The question is whether they fell asleep.

A morning flight from Honolulu last week drifted off course and had to turn back to get to the Hilo Airport.

Reports say there also was a 25-minute period where ground crews could not get a response from the cockpit.

Wouldn't that last fact have also scrambled an Air Force Intercept?I'd say those pilots have some explaining to do.
