so i just saw this show on fallujah, the whole 2004 "surge" or whatever you'd call it.

so it seems like they essentially went house to house, or at least street by street with a lot of entries. ultimately they ended up blowing up and bulldozing a bunch of shit. so i'm wondering... it seems like the place was already pretty clear of civilians and only dickmonkeys were left. so why didn't they just carpet bomb (or saturation bomb, whatever it's called) the shit out the place? is there too much concern about ruining local property values?
