I had high hopes. Too bad Kremlinism runs so deep.

Andrei Illarionov, President Vladimir Putin’s chief economic adviser but also an acerbic critic of the Kremlin’s grab for economic power, offered his resignation on Tuesday, saying Russia was “no longer free”.

The Russian government is so completely corrupt that between the organized crime and political payoffs it is amazing the system hasn’t fallen apart already. I think the only thing that is driving them now is pure greed. Once they figure out they have sold their future for McDonalds dreams it will be far to late to do anything about it. It will take another revolution just to get rid of the pathetic shell of a government that is in place now.
