He bashed GW for "allowing" the Assault Weapons ban to expire (why didn't he return to DC & start a bill himself? Bush said he'd sign one.) but he forgot to mention the Assault Weapon he has in his own home.

Why is okay for him to own these weapons but not tha average citizen?

A statement released by the Kerry campaign said that John Kerry is a strong supporter of the second amendment- the right to bear arms - but that the weapons banned were not meant for ordinary citizens.

"Kerry supports the second amendment right to keep and bear arms, but he also understands that hunters don't need and don't use AK-47'S, but criminals and terrorists do," said the Kerry campaign.

Despite pushing for bans against so-called assault weapons, Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry now admits he owns a "Communist Chinese assault rifle.''

''My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam,'' Kerry told Outdoor Life magazine for its October issue. ''I don't own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle.''

Once again, the entire point is missed. It's not the president who let the ban lapse...it was CONGRESS. It was the duty of either the house, or the senate, to vote on the extension of the ban, not the president's. Of course, most people either don't know, or don't care, because their minds are already made up. Politicians pandering...gotta love it...
